  a deep-rooted connection to the maritime world\, with a thriving marine 
 industry that spans commercial shipping\, naval operations\, and cutting-
 edge research. Victoria\, the provincial capital\, is home to a strong 
 ship repair presence\, a growing marine technology sector\, and key 
 institutions focused on education and workforce development in the marine 
 space. As the industry faces increasing demands for innovation\, 
 sustainability\, and operational excellence\, there is a growing need for 
 a highly skilled\, diverse and adaptable workforce to meet the challenges 
 ahead. Mari-Tech 2026 will explore how the marine engineering community is
  building the next generation of skilled professionals\, advancing 
 technical training\, and adopting emerging technologies to support a more 
 resilient and future-ready industry. From simulation and AI to workforce 
 planning and hands-on experience\, the conference will bring together 
 marine engineers\, educators\, regulators\, shipyards\, and vessel 
 operators to share insights and best practices that strengthen our 
 collective capacity. Held annually\, Mari-Tech 2026 is hosted by the 
 CIMarE Vancouver Island Branch\, with support from the SNAME Pacific 
 Northwest Section\, and will take place in beautiful Victoria\, BC.
